Privacy Policy

Mahjong Night keeps score for four people playing American Mahjong together in real life. You do not need to create an account. This policy explains what stays on your iPhone and what is processed when you use membership, sharing or support.

Who is responsible

The developer and data controller is Gergő Miklós, an independent developer based in Hungary. For privacy questions or requests, email miklos.gergo.98@gmail.com.

Your table records stay on your device

Player names, night titles, hands, scores, table rules, learning answers and app preferences are stored in the app on your iPhone. We do not upload these records to a server or send them to RevenueCat. The app does not read your contacts, location, microphone, camera or photo library.

This version has no app-managed cloud sync, backup or full-history import. Your Apple device backup may include app data, depending on your settings. We cannot retrieve your local records for you. Apple manages its own backup services under the Apple Privacy Policy.

Sharing is optional

When you share a recap, the app creates an image and opens the iOS share sheet. You choose the destination. Balances are hidden by default, and you can switch names to initials. Review the image before sharing; it can still contain your night title, player details and results. The receiving app or service handles that copy under its own policy. We do not receive a copy.

Subscriptions through Apple and RevenueCat

Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription information, including products, transaction history, renewal and entitlement status, and a randomly generated app user identifier. It also receives technical information such as the app version, operating system, locale and currency. This enables purchase verification, restoring access and subscription reporting.

We use RevenueCat's anonymous identifiers rather than an account tied to your name or email. We do not send player names, scores or learning answers as customer attributes. Neither we nor RevenueCat receive your payment-card details. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for its handling of data.

No ads or advertising tracking

Mahjong Night contains no ads, advertising SDKs or behavioral analytics SDK. We do not sell your personal information or use it to track you across other companies' apps and websites for advertising. RevenueCat's subscription reports help us understand purchases and renewals.

Support and this website

If you email support, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. Include only the information needed to explain the problem. Do not send payment-card details or other players' private information.

These pages are hosted on Vercel. Visiting them can produce ordinary web request and security logs, including an IP address, browser information, requested URL and time. These pages do not ask you to upload table records or create an account. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.

Purposes, legal bases and providers

Where European data protection law applies, we process membership information to provide your purchased service, and support correspondence to respond to your request. Our legitimate interests include preventing purchase fraud, maintaining service security and understanding subscription performance. We also process information when needed to meet legal obligations. When processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Apple, RevenueCat, our email provider and Vercel may process relevant information outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, applicable transfer safeguards, such as approved contractual clauses, govern those transfers. We do not use table records for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Retention and deletion

Local records remain until you remove the app's data using iOS Delete App. Offloading the app keeps its documents and data. Copies in device backups or destinations you shared to are managed separately through those services. Deleting the app does not cancel an App Store subscription.

Subscription records are retained while needed to validate access, restore purchases, resolve billing issues and meet legal requirements. Support messages are kept while needed to address your request and associated disputes or legal obligations. You can request deletion of information we hold by contacting us; some records may need to be retained for these reasons. Provider retention policies also apply.

Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, a portable copy or restriction of your personal data, and object to certain processing. Contact the email above. We may need limited information to verify your request or locate an anonymous subscription record; we cannot access table records stored only on your phone.

You may also complain to your local data protection authority, including Hungary's NAIH. Mahjong Night is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has supplied personal information to us, contact us.

Changes to this policy
