Privacy Policy - She Ate

The short version

She Ate processes camera images, photos, body-position information, and face data entirely on your iPhone. The developer does not receive this data. Your camera feed, photos, and face data are not uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties. She Ate has no user accounts and does not use advertising or cross-app tracking.

1. Face Data We Process

For this policy, “face data” means images or video frames that may contain a face and information calculated from a face. Depending on the feature you choose to use, She Ate may process:

Live camera frames that may contain your face.
A photo you deliberately select from your photo library that may contain a face.
Whether a face is present and its orientation, expressed as three numeric angles: yaw (left or right turn), roll (side tilt), and pitch (up or down tilt).
A coarse posing recommendation derived during the optional onboarding scan, such as “left ¾” or “right ¾.”
Photos captured in the app, which may include a face.

She Ate does not create or store a faceprint, biometric identifier, identity template, or facial-recognition profile. It does not identify who a person is, authenticate a person, infer sensitive characteristics, or compare a face against a database of people.

2. How Face Data Is Used

Face data is used only for the following app features:

Optional onboarding face-angle scan: She Ate measures face orientation while asking you to look forward, left, and right. It uses those readings to provide live instructions and create a coarse “best side” posing recommendation.
Optional onboarding body-photo effect: A photo you select is processed in memory to detect the person and display a temporary outline effect. She Ate does not perform face-angle analysis on this photo and does not save the photo or its outline after you leave the feature.
Live pose coaching: During a shoot, She Ate compares your current face orientation with the orientation of the selected pose and uses the difference as one part of the on-screen pose score.
Custom pose creation: If you select a photo to create a custom pose, She Ate detects the person and, if a face is visible, calculates the face-orientation angles. If you choose “Save to my poses,” the selected photo and those three numeric target angles are stored locally so the pose can be displayed and scored in future shoots.
Taking and reviewing photos: The camera frame is captured when you press the shutter or use a hands-free series. Captured photos are kept locally in the app so you can review, save, or delete them.

Face data is not used for authentication, identification, advertising, marketing, tracking, user targeting, sale, model training, or any purpose unrelated to these posing and camera features.

3. Processing, Storage & Security

Face detection, face-angle analysis, pose detection, and person segmentation are performed on your iPhone using Apple’s on-device Vision framework.
Live camera frames and live face-angle readings are processed in memory. They are not uploaded and are not written to persistent storage merely because analysis occurs.
Information that you choose to keep—such as captured photos, a custom-pose source photo and its target angles, and the onboarding best-side recommendation—is stored only in She Ate’s private app container on your iPhone.
A captured photo is copied to your Apple Photos library only when you explicitly choose to save it there. A Photos-library copy is then managed by you through the Photos app.
We do not operate a server or cloud database for photos, camera frames, body-position information, or face data.

4. Sharing & Disclosure of Face Data

Face data is not transmitted to, collected by, or shared with the developer, RevenueCat, analytics providers, advertisers, data brokers, artificial-intelligence services, or any other third party. It is not sold or disclosed for advertising or marketing. Apple’s Vision framework performs the analysis locally on your device and does not require She Ate to upload the image for analysis.

5. Retention & Deletion

Live frames and live readings: retained only in memory for the active feature or camera session and discarded as frames are replaced or when you leave that feature. They are not persistently stored as face-analysis records.
Unsaved selected photos: a photo selected for the optional onboarding body-photo effect, or a custom-pose photo that you do not save, is retained only in memory for that feature and discarded when you leave it.
Best-side recommendation: stored on your device until it is replaced when you complete onboarding again or until you delete the app.
Saved custom poses: the selected source photo, generated pose-guide images, and target face angles remain on your device until you delete that custom pose, use “Delete all my data,” or delete the app.
Captured photos: remain in the app until you delete them during review, use “Delete all my data,” or delete the app.
Photos-library copies: deleting a photo inside She Ate or deleting the app does not delete a copy you previously chose to save to Apple Photos. You can delete that copy in the Photos app.

Because the developer never receives face data, there is no server-side copy for the developer to retrieve or delete. Deleting She Ate removes its app container and all face data and photos stored there.

6. Your Choices & Consent

You may skip the onboarding face-angle scan by selecting “Maybe later.”
iOS asks for camera permission before She Ate can access the camera. You can revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
You choose each photo imported through Apple’s system photo picker. Selecting a photo does not give She Ate general access to your photo library.
You can delete individual captured photos during review, delete a custom pose by long-pressing it, or use “Delete all my data” in the You tab to remove captured photos, custom poses, and profile information handled by that control.
You can delete the app to remove all information stored in its private app container.

7. Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. To validate purchases and manage subscription status, She Ate uses RevenueCat, which processes an anonymous app-generated identifier and purchase receipt information on our behalf. RevenueCat does not receive your camera feed, photos, body-position information, face data, name, or contact details through She Ate. Anonymous RevenueCat purchase records can be deleted on request by contacting us.

8. Other Information Stored on Your Device

She Ate may store the first name you enter, quiz answers needed during onboarding, your selected style result, app settings, locally created pose guides, captured-photo scores, and subscription-entitlement status. She Ate does not provide user accounts, collect email addresses, serve advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

9. Children

She Ate is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly receive personal information or face data from children because the app does not transmit that data to us.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we change how She Ate handles information, we will update this policy, its “Last updated” date, and the app’s App Store privacy disclosures as required before the change takes effect.
